DSP arrest Dagsboro man on drug and other traffic related charges

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police say they arrested a Dagsboro man on numerous charges following a traffic stop Tuesday evening.

At around 6:45 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on Long Neck Road in Millsboro. On contact with the driver, 28-year-old Kevin Handy Jr., a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from within the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 377 bags of heroin (approximately 2.639 grams), 3.67 grams of cocaine, 3.84 grams of marijuana, more than $300 in suspected drug money, and drug paraphernalia. It was also learned that Handy has a suspended license.

Handy was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, possession of marijuana personal use, and improper tail lights.

Handy is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $51,502 secured bond.
