Decatur boys lacrosse gets first win over Worcester Prep in four years

BERLIN, Md.- In one of the biggest lacrosse rivalries on the Eastern Shore, Stephen Decatur boys lacrosse snapped their four-game losing streak to Worcester Prep with a 5-4 win on Wednesday afternoon.

It was the first win for first-year Stephen Decatur head coach Hoffy Hoffman after coming over from Prep this past year. The Seahawks were led in the scoring column by freshman Austin Airey who netted two, followed by Eric Gwin and Chase Porter with one apiece. In net, Tony Scafone stopped 11 shots for Decatur.

For Worcester Prep (1-1), four different Mallards got on the scoresheet; Alex Dembeck, Owen Tunis, Grahm McColgan and Cole Berry. Keeper Hunter Gentry finished the night with 12 saves.
