SoDel Concepts will now produce beer by creating new brewpub, Thompson Island Brewing Co.

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – SoDel concepts is adding another restaurant to their group, this time in Rehoboth with the brand new Thompson Island Brewing Company set to open this October.

Right now, the 250-seat brew pub is in the construction phase and it’s actually being built right next door to their another one of their locations, Bluecoast Seafood Grill.

But unlike their other ventures, we’re told this is the first time they’re trying their hand at beer. Their Director of Operations Matt Patton adds, “There’s some room to make more beer in Sussex, there’s a lot of great breweries here, but you can never have enough beer.”

John Trogner of Tröegs Independent Brewing will be the consultant on the brewing side. SoDel says he will help with the beer garden concept and help produce world class beer.

In that beer garden, we’re told they will have ping pong and bocce ball.

Their marketing director Nelia Dolan tells 47 ABC, “We really thinking bringing another brew pub to the area will be great for the whole industry. The more attention to the craft breweries, so we think it will be better for the whole industry.”
