Two arrested on drug charges in Dorchester Co.

HURLOCK, Md. – The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says two people were arrested last weekend on numerous drug charges.

We’re told that during the early morning hours on January 27th, a deputy on patrol in the area of Quail Run Road near Hurlock came up on a 2007 Chevrolet pick-up truck parked in the travel portion of the road.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Daniel Lednum, reportedly told the deputy that he was lost and when asked for identification, he provided a false name. The deputy observed a purple bag containing drug paraphernalia on the passenger side of the vehicle and subsequently began a search of the vehicle, leading to the discovery of syringes, crystal methamphetamine, liquid methamphetamine, and methadone.

Lednum was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and hindering an officer in his duties. The passenger of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Julie McCumbie, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Both are currently being held pending action by the District Court.
