North Dorchester holds on late vs Pocomoke, get senior night victory

HURLOCK, Md.- With four players in double digits on senior night, North Dorchester defeated Pocomoke 70-63.

Tied at 16 apiece in the first quarter, the Eagles would start to pull away in the second, powered by a combined 28 points from Dionisio Polk and Jaheim Copper.

The second half would start out much of the same as North Dorchester would extends their high point halftime lead to 13 headed into the final quarter.

With just under three minutes to play, Pocomoke would start their comeback, climbing to within five with less than a minute to play, but late turnovers and fouls would end any hopes for a Warriors win.

Dionisio Polk led the Eagles (3-13) with 17, paired with 15 from Gary Pledger and Jaheim Copper. Leroy Fitchett’s rounded out the scoring with 14 points.

For Pocomoke (1-14), Nigel Houston led all scorers with 26 points, and Charles Finney
