Dover man pleads guilty to vehicular assault
DOVER, Del. – A Dover man who hit two teens with his vehicle as they crossed Route 13 learned his fate earlier this week.
In August 2018, 52-year-old William Smith reportedly hit two teen girls while they were in a pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of Route 13 and Denneys Road in Dover. He was arrested on his 5th DUI charge as a result of the incident.
Smith pled guilty to two counts of first degree vehicular assault and one count of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony on Wednesday.
He will face five years in prison, followed by six months of either home confinement or work release, then one year of probation.
