Route 50 and Sixty Foot Road project right on schedule for spring completion

PITTSVILLE, Md. – In Wicomico County, the State Highway Administration is reporting their construction on Route 50 and Sixty foot road is right on schedule.

Work began this summer on the dangerous intersection and since they worked on the median, created turn lanes, and have poles in place for signals.

On Monday, they were adding in advance signal signs over the roadway, which are placed a half a mile in each direction.

SHA Spokesperson Bob Rager says, “We got to make sure that motorists are aware there’s a change here and one of things that we do is put a signal in advance of the actual intersection to warn motorists and it will flash when that signal turns red.”

We’re told they still need to do some surface paving and add more signal poles.

Right now, the project is set to be done by early spring.
