Three arrested in connection to Smyrna burglary
SMYRNA, Del. – Three people are facing charges following an investigation into a burglary that occurred back in August 2018.
Police say the incident was reported to have occurred between August 4th and 11th, when the suspects allegedly forced entry into a home in the 300 block of Southern View Drive. Once they got inside, the suspects then consumed the residents’ food and alcohol. They also stole a PlayStation 4, two firearms, and a Mercedes Benz, before fleeing the scene.
Following investigation, police were able to identify the three suspects, and all three were taken into custody this week.
19-year-old Brian Sadler, of Smyrna, was arrested on Thursday at his home in the 900 block of Alexandria Way. He initially resisted arrest and police also found a single bag of heroin in his possession. He was charged with second degree burglary, resisting arrest, and other various theft charges. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $20,500 secured bond.
During the investigation, police learned that one of the suspects, 19-year-old Kashar McIvor, sent a 12-year-old female sexually charged messages. He was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second degree burglary, sexual solicitation of a child under 18, and other various theft charges. He is pending committal on $79,000 cash only bond.
19-year-old Douglas Hodges, of Smyrna, was arrested on Thursday at his home in the 200 block of Southern View Drive. He was charged with second degree burglary and other various theft charges. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $10,000 secured bond.
