Wine enthusiasts pack Pemberton Historical Park
SALISBURY, Md. – The annual Autumn Wine Festival is taking place at the Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury this weekend, and thousands of wine enthusiasts are in town to try the best wines the Old Line State has to offer.
Not only does the event give wine lovers a chance to pick a new favorite taste, but some of the funds go towards Women Supporting Women for breast cancer research.
Part of the money raised also goes to the county to fund events like this.
“Our main mission is to bring more people into the county to spend the night,” said Kristen Goller, Wicomico County tourism manager. “We then cycle that back through to recruit more events here. So a lot of what we do is supporting events, so you might be familiar with like our softball tournament during the summer, or basketball tournament over the holidays. So things like that we put back out there to try to get more people here into the county.”
If you missed out on the fun Saturday, you have another chance. Gates open at 11 AM Sunday morning, and the party ends at 5 PM.
