Thousands participate in local church’s 6th annual trunk-or-treat

SALISBURY, Md. – Hundreds of children and their families made their way to the Wesleyan Church in Salisbury for the 6th annual trunk or treat event. Event organizers say 55 different trunks participated with decked out gear to celebrate. They say the annual tradition provides a safe and fun way for kids and their parents to celebrate Halloween while also being able to have fun at church. They add that the money raised from the event goes to the many missions the church has including the adopt a block program that feeds the local community.

“We’re expecting between 4 and 5 thousand tonight and we want there to be a safe place for kids to come and trick or treat. A hospitable environment for people who’ve maybe never been to church before, just to let you know that you can come as you are even in your Halloween costume, friends, family, everybody is welcome,” said nursery and admin director Naomi Rinaldi.

There will be numerous Halloween activities for families and children to take part on Wednesday including the annual Trick or Treat Street that’s being put on by the Salisbury Jaycees that will take place on the plaza from 6 to 9 PM.
