SALISBURY, Md. – A local nurse has received an incredible award for her compassion and outstanding efforts.

Although Kathy Foxwell works as a registered nurse in the Peninsula Breast Center in Salisbury, her main job is to be a navigator.

Her colleagues say she is wonderful when it comes to making sure patients have everything that they need, and that they feel as comfortable as possible. They say patients always want to see her when they return for follow ups.

Foxwell was honored in a ceremony in front of her colleagues. She received a certificate for being an extraordinary nurse, in addition to fresh flowers on behalf of the staff at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, and a hand-carved sculpture by artists of the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe.
