Officials: Two businesses failed Md. alcohol compliance check

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Officials report that two businesses failed a recent compliance check in Wicomico County.

The Wicomico County Board of License Commissioners says a routine compliance check was done by the Wicomico County Alcohol Task Force on Thursday. Officials report that Shore Stop in Pittsville and Rositas Taqueria Y Restaurant in Salisbury failed the compliance check.

According to the report, the following businesses passed:

1)    Acme 751 S. Salisbury Blvd. Salisbury MD
2)    Wetcher Whistle 1220 Old Ocean City Rd. Salisbury MD
3)    Walston Switch Sunoco 31997 Beaver Run Drive
4)    Roadie Joe’s 213 W. Main St. Salisbury MD
5)    Brew River 502 W. Main St. Salisbury MD
6)    Mojo’s 213 E. Main St. Salisbury, MD
7)    OC Road Beer and Wine 1300 Old Ocean City Road Salisbury MD
8)    Express Food Store 900 N. Salisbury Blvd. Salisbury MD
9)    Fountains 1800 Sweetbay Dr. Salisbury MD
10)    Reign 331 Civic Ave. Salisbury MD
11)    Eastmoon 800 S. Salisbury Blvd. Salisbury MD
12)    Cheers 1324 S. Salisbury Blvd. Salisbury MD
13)    The Warehouse 1147 S. Salisbury Blvd. Salisbury MD

Law enforcement says the establishments who failed the compliance check will be summoned before the Board of License Commissioners for a Show Cause hearing. At the hearing, a fine, a suspension, or both may be levied against their license. The clerks who sold the alcohol will be charged by the officers of the task force.

The Wicomico County Alcohol Task Force includes Wicomico County Liquor License Department, the Maryland State Police, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, Salisbury Police Department, the Fruitland Police Department and the Wicomico County States Attorney’s Office.
