Accomack County closes two shelters, keeps one open for Hurricane Florence

Due to recent changes in the storm, Accomack County has decided to close two of its shelters but keep one open.

The only shelter that will be open is Nandua High School in Onley. Any resident from Accomack or Northampton Counties should head there, if they feel safer at the shelter.

Keep in mind no pets are allowed, only service dogs. Besides that, all you need is a picture ID and necessities that will last you for three days.

They will also have police officers on duty the entire time for your safety.

As for the Onley shelter, they will remain open until they are told to close, so again that is all weather dependent.
