Dover Comic Con returns for the 5th year

Dover Comic Con is back this weekend for its fifth year! The Dover public library will host the free event this Saturday, August 16th.

The Dover Comic Con features artists, vendors, and of course, cos-play.  We're told the library-hosted event started with just 120 people and has grown to 10,000 attendees over the past few years.

The Dover public library tells us these conventions can be very expensive around the country, and they started this one to give teens in the community a more affordable option.

Margie Cyr with the Dover Public Library said, "The library started this about five years ago because we wanted to give young people in our community an opportunity to be able to explore the genre of comic books."

You can check out Dover's Comic Con this Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Parking is located at the DNREC building, Tatnall building, and Reed Street lots.
