Woman charged with DUI after erratic driving with child in vehicle

Maryland State Troopers have arrested a woman who was transporting her child after motorists notified police about an erratic driver.

Police say 32-year old Brandi Wright was arrested this morning after they received several calls from concerned motorists regarding an erratic driver traveling east on Route 50.

The callers told police that the car had significant amount of damage from bumping into guard rails along route 50 and at one point Wright allegedly hit over 100 mph.

An agent from the Office of the Comptroller of Maryland spotted the vehicle and was able to stop the driver. Troopers arrived shortly after and say that Wright was exhibiting signs of impairment

Wright was taken to the Centreville Barracks where she was charged with driving under the influence and related traffic offenses.  

Wright's three-year-old son was placed in the custody of a friend and Child Protective Services was notified.
