A man was arrested after police say he was wanted for his alleged role in the June murder of a Delaware man.

The Dover Police Department says on Monday, members of the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force arrested 42-year-old Timothy Safford in the 300 Block of Van Buren Street NW, Washington D.C. Police say Safford was wanted on the charges of first degree murder, possession of a firearm during commission of felony,  and possession of firearm/ammunition by person prohibited (2x) in connection with a Dover murder investigation.

Police report that the fatal shooting happened at Liberty Court Apartments, on Walker Road.

Law enforcement says on June 22, Sylvester Lee, the victim, and Safford were involved in a verbal argument before the fatal shooting happened. While both men walked towards the victim's vehicle, Dover PD reports that Safford shot Lee, causing his death.

He is currently being held pending his extradition to Delaware.
