Teen arrested in connection to bomb threats at three Accomack Co. schools

A teen was arrested after deputies say three Accomack County schools experienced bomb threats last week.

The Accomack County Sheriff's Office says on Friday, they received reports of bomb threats at Nandua Middle School, Nandua High School and Accawkmacke Elementary School. Deputies say a 17-year-old was arrested in connection to the incident. Authorities report that the teen was charged with one count of threat to bomb or burn a building.

The juvenile was taken to Norfolk Detention Center in Norfolk, VA  and held without bond.

Virginia State Police, Exmore Police Department, Onley Police Department, Onancock Police Department, and the Worcester County Sheriff's Office assisted the Accomack County Sheriff's Office with this investigation.

On Monday, officials with Acccomcak County Public Schools confirm that bomb threats were received at Nandua Middle School, Nandua High Shool, and Accawmacke Elementary School. Officials say the buildings were evacuated and no bomb was found. 

The Accomack County Sheriff's Department, Virginia Sate Police, and a K9 unit from the Worcester County Sheriff's Department apparently responded to the incident. It is unclear if Friday's bomb threat investiagtion is related to Monday's incident.
