Del. man charged with sixth DUI

Authorities report that a man was charged with his sixth DUI as a result of a Rehoboth Beach traffic stop.

Delaware State Police say on Friday, just before 1:10 AM, a trooper noticed a maroon Dodge Stratus traveling in the wrong lane of travel on Warrington Road. Troopers say the vehicle was then pulled over and the driver was identified as 36-year-old Jermaine Willis, of Milton.

According to the report, the odor of alcohol was detected and a DUI investigation began. Willis was arrested an taken to Troop 7. DSP reports that a computer check revealed that Willis had five previous DUI convictions.

Willis was charged with sixth offense driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while suspended or revoked, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, failure to remain within a single lane, and failure to have insurance identification.

He was then turned over to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $7,502 cash bond.
