Deadly crash leads to police investigation in Queen Anne’s County

Police are continuing in their investigation of a  deadly Sunday night crash.

Reportedly the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Department responded to the 300 block of Bear Pond Road in Templeville, Maryland, after receiving calls about a single vehicle on fire in the trees with a possible person trapped.

Upon arrival, a white Ford Ranger pickup truck was found fully engulfed in flames with the driver trapped in the car and a passenger ejected on the outside. Wayne Cheney, 50, The driver and owner of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. Faith Gokdemir ,46 , The passenger was transported to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police aviation unit, for serious, but non life threatening injuries. Ms. Gokdemir has not yet been released from Shock Trauma.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office Crash Team .

Officials are preparing for the investigation to conclude as soon as  pending results of the crash scene  and medical reports are released.
