Traffic stop leads to charges for a Virginia man

A Virginia man is facing charges after deputies say they found heroin during a traffic stop in Salisbury on Friday.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says they pulled over a car for an equipment violation on Friday just before 10:30 AM, on Booth Street. Deputies identified the driver as 29-year-old Alex Corbin of Bloxom, VA. Based on alleged illegal activity, a Deputy called in a K-9 unit to scan the vehicle. Following the K-9 alert, Deputies searched the car and reportedly found heroin and a syringe.

Authorities say Corbin was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on personal recognizance.
