JOINING OUR TEAM LAST WEEK:

• On Thursday, Ben Warrington returned to our Team as a Studio Technician.  He is a graduate of Sussex Central High School and the University of Delaware in Georgetown.

•On Friday, Drew Williams, who is currently our Intern, will now be coming on board as a part-time shooter as needed.  He will graduate from SU in 2018 (presently holds a 4.0 GPA) in Communications with a focus on journalism/ media production.

On Saturday, Brooke Butler started as our MMJ/ Producer. Brooke holds a B.A in Communications with a minor in Spanish from the College of Charleston (SC).  She has served internships at WCSC (Charleston), WTOC (Savannah) and WBOC.  She is also very active in volunteer work.

NEW EMPLOYEES JOINING OUR TEAM THIS WEEK

Erica Murphy is starting today as our Weekend Anchor/ MMJ.  Erica studied Journalism at Wayne State University.  Her prior related experience includes reporting for WWJ Newsradio in Southfield, MI and HLN in Atlanta, Assignment Desk Editor for Fox 2 in Southfield, MI and reporter for WJR Newstalk in Detroit, MI.

•Sarah Ash is also starting today.  Sarah will be a summer employee working as a Digital/News Research Assistant, reporting to Sarah Truitt.  Sarah is an Undergraduate Student at Virginia Tech.  She is a geography major with a minor in meteorology and communications.

Please join me in welcoming these new Employees to our Team.

OTHER COMINGS AND GOINGS:

• Jonah Restuccio will be starting Wednesday as our MMJ/Producer.
• On Monday, 17 July, Breck Eady will be joining our Sales Team

AN AMERICAN IDOL AUDITION MAY BE COMING TO DELMARVA

• ABC is offering a webinar on Thursday which will review all we need to know (their words) about putting together our own affiliate audition for American Idol.  We’ll report back to you in the next Monday Memo!

ONE SPECIAL ON 47 ABC THIS WEEK

• Wednesday night, 8-11PM, will be the 2017 ESPYS

We have received four tickets for each of three shows at the Freeman Stage at Bayside in Selbyville.  These events that are actually free, but you have to have a ticket to ensure admission.  The events are as follows:
• Thursday, 13 July at 7PM = The Church Sisters (at the Freeman Stage at Bayside)
• Saturday, 15 July at 10AM = Jungle John’s Jurassic Journey (at The Freeman Stage at Bayside)
The parameters are as follows
• It is BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair)
• You must have your ticket with you
• Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
• It is an outdoor venue, so weather will be a consideration

JULY RATINGS PERIOD

• This is your reminder that you, as an employee of a broadcast facility, and your immediate household may not participate in any of the Nielsen Surveys.  If you receive a phone call or related paperwork, just advise them that you are a broadcaster and cannot participate.  If you have any questions, see your Supervisor.
