Delaware winery honors the late Cpl. Ballard with new wine

Harvest Ridge Winery in Marydel, Delaware is selling a new wine called "Blue Line White".

Chuck Nunan, owner of Harvest Ridge Winery, stopped by 47 ABC to talk about how this wine is honoring a local fallen hero.

Nunan says Blue Line White serves to honor the community's law enforcement officers.

One particular officer came to mind for Beth Rosebrooks, whose submission was chosen to be the face of the new wine.

Delaware State Trooper, Officer Stephen J. Ballard, was shot and killed in the line of duty on April 26.

 A dedicated and honorable officer, Ballard's death shook many families and the Delaware State Police unit.

In recognition of Officer Ballard, and other brave members of the law enforcement sector, proceeds from the sales of the Blue Line White wine bottles will benefit the Stephen Ballard Memorial Fund.

Harvest Ridge is holding a release party for Blue Line White on Saturday, July 15 from 12 to 8 PM.

Guests can enjoy offerings from food vendors, including Backyard Louie's BBQ, Vitale's Ice, and Muhammad's Caribbean Kitchen.

There will be live music throughout the entire event, and families are welcome to join in on the fun with a jump on the moon bounce, face painting, and chance to meet our Delaware State Troopers.

This event will be a celebration of our law enforcement officers and opportunity to sit back, relax, and spend time with loved ones and the rest of the community.

Harvest Ridge hopes to sell out all 250 cases of the limited release wine, and in doing so honor Stephen Ballard's memory and provide support for his family.
