Two Bridgeville Men Arrested for Operating Drug Lab

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – The Delaware State Police (DSP) have arrested two Bridgeville men on felony drug and weapons charges following a search warrant last week.

Troopers arrested 49-year-old William Charleston on charges including possessing a tier three quantity of a controlled substance, second degree conspiracy, operating a clandestine laboratory, endangering the welfare of a child by committing a drug offense with a child in the dwelling, and related drug charges. He has since been arraigned and released on a $111,600 unsecured bond.

Troopers also arrested 47-year-old Jerome Charleston on the same charges, in addition to possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, possessing a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited due to a violent crime or felony, and other related gun and drug felonies. He was arraigned and committed to the Department of Correction on a $215,100 cash bond.

On Aug. 7, members of the Sussex County Special Investigations Unit and DSP Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant at a property on the 21000 block of Mill Park Drive in Bridgeville. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of William and Jerome Charleston for the distribution of illegal narcotics from the property. Police say a child was present during the search warrant, and both suspects were detained without incident.

A search of the residence and vehicles on the property led to the discovery of the following items:

• Approximately 85.19 grams of crack cocaine
• Approximately 1.23 grams of heroin
• .32 caliber handgun
• Assorted ammunition
• Digital scale and drug paraphernalia
• $1,410 in suspected drug proceeds
