sports..tray some welcome back, were talking sports..tray some fall season sports awards still being handed out at salisbury university… yeah emily, yeah emily, although the season didn’t end the way the salisbury field hockey team necessarily wanted it to, they still have a lot to be proud of for a magical year and took home some hardware to prove it. as four sea gulls were named to the national field hockey coaches association all-region team this afternoon. seniors hannah miller and becca rinaca were named to theall-south region first team, while senior annah brittingham and junior tressie windsor earned second-team honors. miller is a stellar player, who was named the conference’s player of the year earlier this month, she earned her second all-region nod, being picked to the second team last season. rinaca, brittingham, and windsor anchored a defense that allowed just a 0.55 goals-against average- the best mark in the nation. the sea gulls won the program’s 20th cac championship in 2016, posted an 18-2 record, and advanced to the ncaa championship weekend for the 14th time in program history. and in some ncaa basketball last night..the maryland eastern shore men’s basketball team fell on the road to louisiana tech. bakari copeland and dontae caldwell were the only hawks in double figures last night as eastern shore now falls to 0-6..they are back in action on wednesday against southeastern louisiana, before returning home back home on december 5th when they host central penn. and while eastern shore is winless..the guys up the highway at salisbury university don’t know what a loss feels like right now..they are 4-0 on the season thus far, off to their best start since….last year when they started 6-0. goes to show you just what kind of program coach andy sachs is building over there..the gulls just knocked off #16 virginia wesleyan on the road last tuesday, and on wednesday they return home for their first conference tilt of the season with st. mary’s. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com here’s a
