Highlights from today's games.

a heavyweight soccer matchup between two bayside teams today here in salisbury.. that’s exactly right michelle. when you talk about two of the better teams in the conference, you’ve gotta mention bennett as well as pocomoke. those two teams squared off this afternoon in the clippers new complex. and what a way to break in that complex as the 6-1 warriors came to visit the 5-1-2 clippers. and things would get going in a hurry, just a couple minutes in, pocomoke with a great opportunity, advance is turned away just in the nick of time by bennett keeper jacob harrison. clippers would find their stride on offense, 16th minute off the corner from peter gutovskey, ball rolling around the box and aidan kelly would strike it thru to put his team on top. pocomoke looking for the equilzer less than 5 minutes later, gus enriquez sets it up, the deflection goes off a bennett defender and we are tied at one. in the closing second before the half, bennett trying to sneak one in, great play by the pocomoke defense to keep that one out. as we last checked they are still tied at one. on to some college football awards won this week, the first coming from delaware state. freshman wide reciever fatu sua- godinet was honored with the meac’s rookie of the week award as he caught five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown in dsu’s loss this past saturday against hampton. sua-godinet ranks second on the hornets with 140 receiving yards and tied for third on the team with 10 receptions. he and the hornets are back in action on this coming saturday as the swarm hosts homecoming against florida a&m. and not to be out done, another star in the making in dover appeared this weekend, as wesley junior defensive end isaiah ingram was named njac defensive player of the week. the pennsauken, n.j. native anchored the wolverines defense this past weekend in their homecoming win over tcnj, he registered nine tackles, including 1.5 for loss. he also registered 1.5 sacks to help secure wesley’s first shutout of the year. also not pictured, wesley freshman running back ej lee running away with his second consecutive offensive rookie of the week award. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page
