abc is teaming up with local humane societies, animal shelters, and rescues across delmarva, for pick a pal day on october 15th. adoption organizations will be running specials that day— and up until then- we’ll have details on a new place every night! today we’d like to start way up north in queenstown– to let you know about the specials offered by the animal welfare league of queen anne’s county. on pick a pal day adoption fees on cats over 6 months of age– will be waived! so if you’re looking to add a furry friend to your family— there’s a way you can at least save a little money– while also saving a life! 47 abc will be showcasing a different shelter or rescue every night– so be sure to stay tuned every morning- to find out what they have to offer. now it is time for pets on the plaza — where we meet adorable — adoptable shelter animals — in search of their forever homes. today — we meet maury. here’s 47 abc’s leanne guyette. this handsome fella is maury. he is a one-year-old orange tabby cat. maury is about medium sized — and seems to be on the small side for his breed. he’s the perfect size to cuddle up in your lap. although we didn’t cuddle — he was quite content for much of his visit — just hanging around the 47 abc station — happy to be the center of attention. he was interested in the toys on the table — but in the end — would much rather be pet. several times — maury made his way over to me — and put his cute stripped paws on my shoulder — to get a better look at the action going on around him. it is hard not to fall in love with this guy — when he locks you in with those huge dark orange eyes. he enjoys having the small white patch on his chest scratched. maury was pretty quite during his visit — but his purring could be heard from a mile away. although he loves attention from people — maury may do best as an only kitty in his new home. can you find room in your heart for maury? for 47 abc — i’m leanne guyette. maury is available for adoption through the delaware s-p-c-a — in georgetown — for a fee of just fifty dollars. he has already been fixed — and is up to date on his shots. for more information about maury — call the s-p-c-a at 302-856-63-61. coming up we’ll have a look at what’s coming up on g-m-a. and — ben stiller
