CAMP Rehoboth explains significance of National Coming Out Day

out day. the purpose of today is to honor all who have come out as members of –or as allies for — the l-g-b-t-q community. joining is us with more is 47 abc’s lissette nunez hi lissette. hi david. the goal of national coming out day is to continue to promote a safe world for l-g-b-t-q individuals to be able to live truthfully and openly. and here on delmarva – it particularly hits home for camp rehoboth. this is steve elkins the executive director of camp rehoboth- camp isan acronym that stands for creating a more positive rehoboth. this non-profit organization was started when elkins and his husband saw a bumper sticker that read keep rehoboth a family town since then – they’ve both made it their goal to create a positive and accepting community for families of all orientations. which is why elkins believes national coming out day is important to honor. steve elkins, exec. dir. camp rehobeth “21:17:05people that are in their 20’s or in their teens or are struggling with coming out it’ important to know that there is people here that support them. whether you are gay or straight. and just say we love you for who you are.21:17:19” butt “21:18:27 it takes a village to come out, so you have to know all your friends are going to support you21:18:28” and this weekend folks on delmarva can continue supporting this non-profit organization during their second block party. this sunday from noon to 4 p-m, there will be food, entertainment, and vendors on the second block of baltimore avenue in rehoboth beach, and part of the profits will go towards camp rehoboth. david? alright thank you lissette. that’s 47 abc’s lissette nunez reporting live in studio for us tonight. from your farm to
