ARREST UPDATE: Maahs arrested thanks to public tips

The Lewes Police Department Chief of Police, Thomas Spell, released a statement in regards to the arrest of Frederick Maahs.
Maahs was wanted for felony home improvement fraud in Delaware.
Spell says that, “As a result of dozens of telephone calls and tips from members of the public, the Lewes Police Department was able to locate and arrest Frederick Maahs at a residence in the Harrington area at approximately 8pm on 9/21/16.”
The Chief of Police goes on to say that Maahs was formally charged for all 4- Lewes, Milton, Georgetown, and Wilmington- jurisdiction warrants.
He was then arraigned at Magistrate Court #2, and bail was set at $7,000.
Spell goes on to state, “The Lewes Police Department would like to thank the members of the public who provided dozens of tips which led to the arrest of a wanted felon who had been victimizing Delaware’s elderly.
“This is a great example of the value of the police-community partnership and the results achieved when we work closely together.”
