Armed robbery of Uncle Willies in Felton under investigation

The Delaware State Police say they are investigating the armed robbery of an area convenience store in Felton, that happened early Tuesday morning.

According to the report, the incident happened around 12AM, when two men entered the Uncle Willies on South DuPont Highway in Felton.

Investigators say the suspects, one of which was armed with an unknown make and model handgun, confronted two employees of the store, so both of the employees ran to the back of the store and hid in a room.

The suspects apparently got into the room the employee’s were hiding in, and knocked an employee to the ground before kicked him several times.

Officials say the suspects then ran out of the back room, took money from a cash register, and an employee’s cellular phone.

Investigators state that a third suspect was seen standing outside the front door but did not enter the store, and all three suspects drove off in a dark colored vehicle.

The employees were reportedly not injured.

According to the report:

  • The first suspect was described as a male, 25-30 years old, approximately 5’07” to 5’08” tall, slim build, wearing a dark hooded jacket and dark pants with his face covered armed with an unknown handgun.
  • The second suspect was described as a male, 25-30 years old, approximately 6’00” to 6’01” tall, slim build wearing a light colored hooded jacket with dark pants with his face covered.
  • The third suspect was only described as a subject wearing dark clothing.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
