Death investigation underway in Laurel

State Troopers say they are investigating the death of a woman found inside of a Laurel home.

Delaware State Police say around 12:25 PM on Thursday, a 61-year-old woman was found by a family member, at a residence on West 6th Street. Officials say first responders arrived on scene, and found victim with apparent signs of trauma. Police say she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Laurel Police Department apparently asked Delaware State Police Homicide detectives to respond. They are now conducting the death investigation.
