Polytech Snags Second Straight Of The Year
The Sussex Central Golden Knights returned a lot of players to the court this season, but transfer Kiante Sturgis has brought a lot to this 2015-2016 squad. While Polytech has a good line up, they are having a tough time filling the void of replacing their star-studded senior class from the 2014-2015 season.
The Golden Knights are coming off of a big win over Sussex Tech winning the Battle Of Georgetown, but they had a tough time getting the ball to fall tonight.
Sussex Central got off to a good start – moving the ball around offensively and shutting down the Panthers, but Polytech began to find their way to take the lead in the second quarter – eventually taking a 31-23 lead going into the locker rooms at half time. The Panthers outscored the Golden Knights 19-8 in the second quarter – it wasn’t that Central wasn’t taking shots or they didn’t have an opportunity to score, but it was the fact that the ball just wouldn’t fall for the Golden Knights in the first half.
In the second half, it was the same story for the Golden Knights as the Panthers continued to push on and Polytech gets the win, 64-54 the final.
