North east winds to cause beach erosion and dangerous rip currents

Heavy north east winds will be hitting the east coast throughout the week.
These winds have the potential to cause severe beach erosion and dangerous rip currents. 47 ABC spoke with the Rehoboth Beach Patrol this afternoon who say they closed the water for that very reason.
Nearby beaches like Bethany and Lewes don’t have patrols on duty during the week, so beach goers are told to swim at their own risk.
The Rehoboth Beach Patrol say they will be monitoring the waters throughout the week to determine if they will close again.
