MONDAY MEMO
     TO:  ALL STAFF
FROM:  KATHLEEN
DATE: 6 JULY 2015

MEET OUR NEWEST EMPLOYEE

Ben Warrington started with our Stations on 1 July as a part time Studio Tech. He is a recent graduate of the University of Delaware in Georgetown and was on the Dean’s list twice and in the National Honor Society from 2011 to 2014. He interned at WBOC working on the DelmarvaLife show. Ben brings a wide range of skills with him including Master Control, a proficiency with Mac/Windows, directing, camera operator, Technical Director and Audio engineer as well as a general knowledge of the Ignite system. Please take a few minutes to introduce yourself and welcome him to our Team.

ARE YOU A “BATTLEBOTS” FAN?

  • I have been in touch with ABC about the possibility of local Team participation in the show. What I have learned to far is that they are definitely going into a second season of production, the first series was shot in San Francisco and they tell me that there are local Teams, conventions and competitions all across the country. Much as I love the show, I must live under a rock because I don’t know of any local Teams. If you are part of a Team or know of any in the area, I would be most appreciative if you would shoot me some contact information. If you haven’t seen the show, it airs Sunday nights at 9 and the last original broadcast of this season will be 26 July.

WE DECORATED FOR THE 4TH OF JULY

  • One of the ways we celebrated the 4th of July at the Station was to clean up the long-neglected plot in front of our building for the City. Being all cleaned up, it seemed to need a bit of special decorations for the 4th, so here is the finished product.

ANNIVERSARY OF NOTE:

  • This year, 47ABC is celebrating 35 years of serving Delmarva. In the near future, you will begin seeing our anniversary mentioned in our promotions and at community events. We’re even going to start using some of our early pictures in “Throw Back Thursdays” and other social media. We will be using 35th Anniversary in promotions through the end of this calendar year.

WECOME TO OUR WEATHER WATCHERS

  • On Wednesday, we will be hosting a reception for our Weather Watchers in the lobby beginning at 5PM. The “thank-you-for-all-those-times-you-called in” event will include catering by 2J’s BBQ and a token of our appreciation for their assistance to our Weather Team. The event is expected to wrap up around 7PM.
