Kent Island Overpowers Sabres For Road Victory

The Saints Peter and Paul High School girl’s basketball team played host to Kent Island on Monday night, but couldn’t hold back a strong second half by the Buccaneers, falling 41-24. Kent Island improves to 12-1 for the season with the victory.

The Sabres kept it close through the first half, taking a 14-14 score into the break, but the third quarter was all Buccaneers, cashing in on 19 points and only giving up two to Saints Peter and Paul. Outscoring the Sabres, 27-5 in the second half, Bree Rotert led all scorers with 17 points. Sabre Kejah Smith paced her squad with 10 points for the game.

Saints Peter and Paul heads on the road on Wednesday to Gunston Day School for its next game with start time set for 4 p.m. Kent Island heads back home tomorrow for a 6:30 p.m., start against North Dorchester.
