Bulldogs Use 24-Point Fourth Quarter To Defeat Indian River

The Laurel High School boy’s basketball team put together a strong fourth quarter to take a 67-61 victory over Indian River on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs improve to 10-3 for the season, while the Indians fall to 7-8.

Laurel took a two-point lead into the half, 28-26, but Indian River outscored the Bulldogs in the third quarter to swing the momentum into its favor. Trailing by two entering the final eight minutes, Laurel got hot, scoring 24 points to take the six-point win.

Gary Warren of Laurel led all scorers with 28 points, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. Indian River’s KeiJuan Major paced the Indians with 14 points.

The Bulldogs get set for an out-of-state matchup on Thursday, as Nandua (Va.) travels to Laurel for a 6:15 p.m., tipoff. The Indians head home for a four-game stretch starting off with Delmar on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
