Laurel Falls Late For Second Day In A Row

Laurel’s boys basketball team dropped a game late for the second day in a row when they fell to Westminster 64-58 in overtime. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 4-2 on the year.

The Bulldogs used their pressure defense to counter the Owls length early on. Reggie Green, Gary Warren and Ray Pacheco would jump passing lanes, and deny the ball from getting to Westminster’s post. Their aggressive nature also helped them get out into the open floor where they were deadly, attacking the rim for several and one finishes to open up a quick lead. The Owls would find themselves in a big hole the first half but fight back in the second where their post players began to find a groove. The game would be tied late in regulation before a half court attempt from Warren would fall off the rim no good. The teams would go to overtime where the Owls finally pulled away for the win. Laurel returns to action Saturday when they travel to play Delmarva Christian.
