Colonel Richardson Comes Up Short Against Catocin
The Colonel Richardson Colonels overcame and 18-point halftime deficit to take a fourth quarter lead, but ultimately could not complete their comeback, falling in overtime to Catocin in the Governor’s Challenge Bracket II consolation game.
The teams would be tied 14 at the end of the first quarter, before Catocin would put up 22 points in the second quarter, while allowing just 4. Derek Smith led the Cougars with 15 points at half, and was largely responsible for the 2nd quarter run, with four three-pointers in the first half.
The third quarter would not prove to be as friendly to the Cougars, as the Colonel’s would go on their own 32-12 run, and eventually take a three-point lead in the fourth.
After ending the game tied, Catocin scored 14 points in the overtime, to Colonels 7, coming away with the win 64-57. Derek Smith led Catocin with 22 points, while David Dickerson had 25 for the Colonels.
