Laurel’s Regan Green Signs With Mississippi St.
Laurel, DE – Laurel softball's Regan Green made it official Thursday morning by signing her letter of intent to continue her playing career next season with Mississippi State University.
Green was an instrumental part of the Bulldogs back to back state championships during her sophomore and junior seasons. During her sophomore year she burst onto the scene by recording a perfect game in the state championship game. Despite coming into her junior year with high expectations, she continued to only impress. Last season she finished with a 16-2 record while registering a .50 ERA, striking out 269 batters and walking just 17. Those number helped earn her the Delaware Gatorade Player of the Year. She capped off that campaign with helping claim her second state title.
Green thanked her teammates, coaches, family and friends for support throughout the process. She stated that reaching this point was a group effort and only possible because of the help she received along the way.
on choosing Mississippi State, Green said that the school just felt right. She said the atmosphere on campus was welcoming and that the coaching staff had a made a real personal impression on her. She also said the academic opportunities there were top of the line, and the opportunity to study at one of the nations top institutes was too good to pass up.
