Harrington man accused of stealing mums from neighbor

A Harrington man was arrested on Thursday, after Police say he stole a plant from a neighbor, and displayed it in his own yard.
Harrington Police say Officers responded to reports of a theft, and learned that someone had stolen three mum plants out of a yard on Delaware Avenue. The responding Officer apparently had a hunch due to previous incidents, and went to a home on Clark Street, and found the mums already planted in the flower bed of the home.
The Officer then reportedly tried to take the resident, 70-year-old Robert Kopp Sr., into custody, but he apparently refused the Officers commands to put his hands behind his back. Police say Kopp continued to resist, but was eventually taken into custody by the Officer, and taken to Harrington PD for processing.
Kopp was charged with theft under $1,500 where victim is 62 years of age or older, resisting arrest, and trespass third degree. He was later released on a $3,100 unsecured bond.
