Sweet 16 For Fisher As He Lifts Eagles Past CSD

The Snow Hill basketball team pulled out a 51-45 win over Cambridge SD Friday night. The win improves the Eagles to 1-2, while the Vikings drop to 1-1. Snow Hill was led by a huge night from Ameer Fisher, who celebrated his 16th birthday by pouring in a game high 20 points while leading his team to the win.
The teams would be in a battle early on as Fisher would find his shooting touch to help the Eagles to a 24-23 halftime lead. DJ Thornton then was able to score a couple bucket in the third as they would grab a small lead headed to the 4th. The Vikings would continue to battle though. Dre Greene would crash the offensive glass, coming up with second chance points as he got his team back within two. But Snow Hill was able to close the game out with their defense down the stretch. Amonty Allen came up with a crucial steal and transition bucket for 2 of his 11 points. Thornton would ice the game as the free throw line late as Snow Hill would hold on for the win.
Cambridge returns to work Monday when they travel to Queen Anne’s, while Snow Hill Tuesday when they travel to Mardela.
