Gold Medal flour products recalled for E. Coli concerns

A local grocery chain says that it has pulled several flour products from shelves, after they were recalled by it’s manufacturer for possible E. Coli contamination. Giant Foods says they have removed from sale Gold Medal products, because they are potentially linked to an outbreak of E. coli 0121.

Giant says that although most strains of E. coli are harmless, others can make you sick. E. coli O121 is apparently a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration. Seniors, the very young, and persons with compromised immune systems are reportedly the most susceptible to foodborne illness.
Those who have purchased any of the products listed above, should throw away any unused portions, and bring their purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.
