Police find Allan Dortez Jones in Easton attic

The Caroline County Sheriff's Office says Allan Dortez Jones was arrested Thursday afternoon at a home in Easton.

U.S. Marshals, Maryland State Police and detectives from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office made the arrest after searching for Jones since an incident on December 9th where Jones fled from a traffic stop and crashed his car on Payne Road near Preston, running from the scene on foot.

Officials say Jones was hiding in the Easton home's attic while police searched for him.

Jones' family had been worried about Jones after they say they didn't hear from him for days.

"We hope this brings a sense of relief to Mr. Jones' family who has stayed in contact with police while anxiously awaiting word of his whereabouts since he fled from police," Caroline County Sheriff Randy Bounds said.

Jones now faces charges related to fleeing his traffic stop.
