Maine man sentenced for third degree rape

James Allen, 36, Maine

A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for raping a 14-year-old girl in Georgetown.

James Allen was found guilty of three counts of third degree rape and one count of sexual exploitation of a child.

This comes after two years ago police responded to the Comfort Inn in Georgetown to find a reported runaway girl.

Allen said the two met on social media and then in Delaware.

In addition to the 18 year sentence, Allen has to complete a sex offender program, six months of work release, and nine years of probation.

Allen also must register as a tier three sex offender.

He was ordered to have no internet access and no contact with the victim or other children except supervised contact with his son.
