JTVCC warden placed on administrative leave

The warden of the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center has been placed on administrative leave, officials with the Delaware Department of Correction confirmed Tuesday morning.

According to Chief of Community Relations Jayme Gravell, Warden David Pierce was placed on administrative leave with pay. He has not been fired.

Until further notice, officials say Deputy Warden Phil Parker will be serving as Acting Warden of JTVCC.

Officials declined to state whether this change in personnel is related to the hostage situation earlier this month.
