The Sussex Central Golden Knights played host to Henlopen rivals - the Sussex Tech ravens on Friday night and while the Golden Knights had some familiar faces on the floor, the Ravens have a whole new lineup on the floor this 2015-2016 season.The Golden Knights took off with an early lead over the the Ravens with Kiante Sturgis taking control with a lay up followed by a three to get Central on the board. The Ravens managed to stay in it with a couple of threes in the first quarter as the Golden Knights held on for the 14-9 lead after the first quarter of play. Throughout the second quarter, Central was having a tough time making their shots, but they got some help with bonus free-throws.The Golden Knights pulled away for the win in the Battle Of Georgetown, 77-55 the final.
The Snow Hill basketball team pulled out a 51-45 win over Cambridge SD Friday night. The win improves the Eagles to 1-2, while the Vikings drop to 1-1. Snow Hill was led by a huge night from Ameer Fisher, who celebrated his 16th birthday by pouring in a game high 20 points while leading his team to the win.
The Seaford Blue Jays are bringing a lot of talent back to the court this season, but the Lake Forest Spartans have quite the lineup returning to the floor as well. The Blue Jays said they were coming back this season with a lot to prove and they've done a good job of it so far with a win over Indian River earlier this week. The Blue Jays controlled the floor in the first half over the Spartans and would take a 29 - 21 lead heading in to the locker room. Heading into the third quarter, the Spartans put up some big points on the board to take a lead, but Seaford continued to put the pressure on Lake Forest to even out the score at 35 - 35 heading into the 4th quarter. The Blue Jays took over in the final quarter of play going on a 16 point run and it would be more than enough as Seaford notches the win over Lake Forest - 58-44.
