Hey, there Delmarva! I’m Andrea Durán, a morning anchor for “Good Morning Delmarva!” and a multimedia journalist.

I was born in Mexico City and I grew up in Maryland, attending Towson University. Before coming to WMDT, I was an investigative and Congressional hill reporter for Capital News Service while completing my master’s degree at the University of Maryland College Park and have won awards for investigative work on Congressional foreign travel and water pollution in Harford County. I’ve also freelanced as a digital journalist for Montgomery Community Media and The Montgomery County Sentinel reporting in my native Montgomery County on local government, education and arts and culture. My written works have appeared in The Baltimore Banner, The Baltimore Sun, Maryland Matters, The Daily Mail and more.

Local news matters to me because each community is different and deserves coverage that’s willing to go the extra mile to tell their story. I want my reporting to go beyond the headline and treat every town like my hometown. I’m excited to join the WMDT news team and bring news folks on the Eastern Shore need to start their day.  Don’t be afraid to reach out or give me a follow at @andreaduranli or email me at andrea_duran@wmdt.com.

When I’m not reporting, I love to read, visit local cafés and watch movies. I’m currently based in Salisbury, MD.
