Somerset Co. Health Department provides safety tips for workers under the sun

It is hot out there on Delmarva!

But imagine if you have to be outside all day. Those who work outside know what kind of effect this weather can have on the human body. But that's not stopping workers from doing their job outside.

47 ABC spoke to the Somerset County Health Department to see how you can stay safe while you're under the blazing sun.

If you happen to be in the hot temps, make sure to cover up. You should wear hats and wear cool clothing.

But don't feel pressured to keep pushing through, take frequent breaks. Find a shady place or try to go inside.

If you have the opportunity, you can even go inside your car to use the AC. While you're taking a breather, drink up some water or Gatorade.

But if you have to go outside, try to do it in reasonable hours in the morning before noon or later in the evening.

Last but not least, always listen to your body.
