UPDATE: Worcester County election results now official

After over a week of counting provisional ballots, the Worcester County Board of Elections has officially announced the winners of the tightly contested State's Attorney and Sheriff's race.
The Board has reported that Kris Heiser defeated Bill McDermott by a total 146 votes, 2,684 – 2,548, to win the Republican nomination and seat for the Worcester County State's Attorney office. Heiser will take office on December 1 because there was not a candidate from the Democratic party.

The next Worcester County Sheriff reportedly be Matt Crisafulli after he defeated Scott Bernal, Mike McDermott, and George Truitt with a total of 44.5% of the vote. The race was ultimately decided by 124 votes as Crisafulli garnered the winning 2,341 votes and McDermott finished second with 2,217 votes.
