Maryland judges restore officer names in case search

In Maryland the court of appeals has announced that the names of officers will in fact appear on case search.
This all comes after the names were deleted from the system last week because of a rule adopted by the rules committee of the court last summer.
Maryland Court of Appeals unanimously voted to adopt an amendment to restore the names, now called Maryland Rule 16-910.
Officials from the court of appeals say that the Court heard testimony from eight people including members of the general public, legal stakeholders, justice advocates, and journalists.
The amendment takes effect immediately but officials say that it will take a significant amount of time and work to reverse the change.
They say the website should be updated by Friday.
