Viewer Tips Catch “Wicomico’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives”

Due to the success of the last special report in July profiling Wicomico’s Most Wanted Fugitives, 47 ABC is once again teaming up with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.
Make sure to tune in each night to 47 ABC News at 6pm, the week of September 15th through September 19th, 2014, for an all new “Wicomico’s 10 Most Wanted” report. Two new fugitives will be profiled each night.
In July, Five out of the 10 suspects profiled in 47 ABC’s Special Report either surrendered or were arrested after the series aired.
“I can tell you,” states Public Information Officer, Lt. Tim Robinson, “on behalf of Sheriff Lewis, that both he and myself, are extremely excited about how many people your viewers are helping to bring in. And we’re extremely appreciative of the partnership that we’ve had with your TV station.”
The five apprehended suspects are as follows:
Wanted Suspect #1: Andrew Durkin Durkin was wanted for violating his probation on prior convictions of assault, trespassing, and disorderly conduct. He was arrested on July 17th thanks to 47 ABC viewers calling in tips to Crime Solvers. “As soon as he was profiled,” explains Lt. Robinson, “he did not show up to his job, and we learned that he left town. Through a little bit of digging around, we learned where his hometown was, and we were able to send the Cecil County Sheriff’s office immediately. They followed him right up there and took him into custody.” |

Wanted Suspect #3: Michelle Baier Baier was wanted for failing to appear in court on theft charges. Viewer tips apparently led investigators to a home in Selbyville, Delaware. “We contacted State Police there,” Robinson recalls more details of the arrest. “They went to the house. Got permission to go in. and lo and behold found her hiding in a closet in the bedroom.” Robinson went further to explain that a condition of the warrant for her arrest said the State of Maryland was willing to extradite Baier back to Maryland if she was arrested in Delaware, “(Baier is) Somebody we’ve been looking for for a little while that we would not have found if we did not profiled her on your show, and somebody would not have called in.” |

Five of Wicomico’s 10 Most Wanted Suspects from July are still on the lam.
But investigators are confident the watchful eyes of 47 ABC viewers, and their tips, could help bring them in, as well. “I can say on behalf of Crime Solvers, we’ve had a banner summer, and we have paid out some good sized cash rewards. The thing that’s exciting about it is the community is getting engaged in helping us take these people off the streets.”
